Thelma and Louis

Dad began his daily plan starting his routine
Clicking on the kettle and then out he looked and screamed
“My lovely car - so bizarre! Somebody has stole!
Just then Louis trundled down and in the kitchen strolled
“Good morning dad” - “Louis my son! Such michievous youth!
Tell me now and tell me quick you must tell me the truth:
When showing off to your mates as kids do when they’re young,
You took my car out for a spin thinking it was fun!”
“Dad how sad - have you gone mad? I have done nothing wrong!
Upstairs I was where I belong all of the night long.
Let’s have a chat with logic that is sensibly reasoned,
How exactly do you think I went about this treason?”
“I’m still in my pyjamas and so somehow I came home.
Surely I’d have driven back - you think on foot I roamed?
You theory is that I went out cruising in your car,
So either that car is here or I would be afar!”
“Besides if I were to decide to turn my hand to crime,
Break out on the open road stealing a car not mine:
Do you think I’d actually risk a life in jail —
For a car that’s coloured white in the shape of a sail?”
Just then they startled as they heard some ruffling and sounds.
Before they knew what happened - the door it swung inbound!
Mum came in from the shops and on her face was glee,
As she set down juice, croissants, coffee .. and Dad’s keys!
